Here at Folly, we make colorful, comfortable, and stylish clothes. But Folly is much more than that. A huge part of Folly is the community that we have built, aka all of you customers that we lovingly call #follygirls. And as the years go on, that community and love grows stronger. From Slabtown, to the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood, there's so many of you who's support has been unwavering since the beginning. This support means the WORLD to us! We LOVE you #follygirls <3

Senator Merkley is busy standing up for the needs of Oregon and we are thrilled to be part of his plan to be safe and keep others safe around him.  Jeff Merkley purchased 3 cute masks from us which we made special for him in "Oregon-themes".  Here he is wearing 2... we are still waiting for a picture of the 3rd mask to show up. How cool is this??

This was so exciting to me, I mean... I love that THIS is how I got to the Senate Floor! haha.

I love this and think it's one of our most basic social contracts to do what we can to protect those around us.

We just added the Special Edition 4th of July masks. 

I am starting to take private shopping appointments. You can book appointments online.  The store is small and one at a time we can do better to ensure a "safe distance".  I  will take all precautions between customers.  I will offer you hand sanitzer upon entry and exit and ask that you wear a mask to your appointment .. I will wear one too!  I can pre-load a dressing room for you... guessing  you are coming in to try something specific on so please let us know! 

A lot of this will feel weird at first but I think we will find ways to adapt and the most important part is to stay healthy and safe. I want to minimize risk for both of us!

folly just quietly turned 12... typically at this time I would be deep in prepping an anniversary sale but this year that is not happening. Our production has been moving very slowly to accommodate mask making and also because our online sales, while good, are not what they are in-store. So... I actually don't have enough merchandise to do our HUGE annual anniversary thing PLUS we can't host a gathering and ALSO time is moving at the weirdest pace for me too! So I am like.. WAIT, IT's MAY!!! Seriously, how has time become such a slippery scale to measure the passing of each day?! 

Anyway... so even though we are not SALE-ebrating for the first time in 12 years I want to say THANK YOU because none of this is possible without you, follygirl! I have felt privileged
to dress you for a dozen years. Thank you Thank you Thank you for keeping us alive and I look forward to many more opportunities in the future to help you find your next "favorite" dress!

I finally added a HAIR section online and will continue to update it because EVERYONE LOVES French barrettes!

The COCO Tunic is pretty much made for Shelter in Place or Work from Home! She's super comfortable but won't embarrass you if you grab a mask and head to Trader Joe's or have to take a Zoomcall! Come on... it's not hard to look cute and be comfortable! 

 The Tez Dress is a summertime fan favorite that we try to make every year... why? she's breezy, and cute! Lightweight, front slit... that sleeve is so fluttery-cute and she is an easy fit. you can belt her for extra cuteness but really, who has time to worry about that right now?! Tez is perfect with a flip-flop, sneaker or a wedge. She will be your favorite HOT DAY dress, for sure! We have these two prints now and will be adding more since this will be the summer of easy clothes... no doubt! Also, I can make your size is it is out of stock, just reach out! Like I said, we are trying to do really small productions of items because I have no clue how many will sell online vs in the store when I sort of know! ;). Thank you for your patience!

It's time for a Summer SALE at folly.

It's hard to believe (or accept the fact) that Summer is coming to a close... I mean, it's not really coming to a close but the fashion calendar marches on! We are starting to get in a few Fall transition pieces and have started to move our production in that direction. We are spending most days working on new styles to roll out as the temperatures cool.  
Let's face it, July is sort of the January of Summer for retail and there is something kind of great about having the time to make plans, take inventory, and begin the shift towards something new. It's been a funny season with lots of amazing Summer teases all Spring but somehow Summer never got off the ground.. Hey Mother Nature, what gives? Oh well, it's sort of old School PDX to have grey mornings that burn off into beautiful sunsets. No complaining (I say this to myself over and over)! 
There hasn't been time to mark things down online so you really will have to just come down and dig through the bins/racks in person. We went pretty heavy with the discounts and most things are around 50% off! Yeeps! Come and get it!

We wanted to refresh your memory about our rewards program, or if this is the first time you’re hearing about it, hey here’s some great news! We have a rewards program called Perkville that lets you earn one point per dollar spent, and at certain point levels you can redeem discounts on your whole folly purchase!

Here’s how it works:

$1 spent = 1 Perkville Point

300 Perkville Points = 10% off your purchase
500 Perkville Points = 20% off your purchase
1500 Perkville Points = 50% off of one item from the Sarah Bibb line

The only thing you have to do to start accruing points is to sign up for our email newsletter or give us your email while you’re in the shop. If you already get our emails then you are automatically signed up and are accruing points! If you want to be able to track your points you can create a Perkville account where you can log in and check your points as you shop. You can also get extra points by doing things like following us on Twitter or referring a friend! And just for creating a Perkville login you get an extra 50 points!

If you don’t want to do any fussing over Perkville, next time you’re in the shop just ask us to look up your points and we’ll let you know if you have a coupon! Saving up points is a great way to get discounts on your favorite folly pieces, especially if you shop regularly with us.

Season Transition: Late Summer Color Palette

One of our favorite things about season transitions is playing with a new color palettes! We’ve been loving tones of ochre, golden, and red-orange hues paired with neutrals like metallics, black, and white. This striped Trista Top just came in a couple days ago and we love it paired with these super hi-rise Rusty Fiora Jeans and the Kimono Clutch in Deco. These colors feel like a perfect transition from late summer to early fall! 

We're loving this light and bright summer look featuring Sarah Bibb’s Silversmith Hez Tee and Manzanita Lauren Cardigan for when you need just a little something over your shoulders. This Manzanita fabric is the perfect weight for a cool summer morning or beach-side breeze, and this black and white stripe is easy and neutral enough to throw over just about any outfit. 

Sarah Bibb’s new Tina Dress in Dex Dot is a great piece that’s almost seasonless and this fabric has a lot of great accent colors you can play off of like the light peach, coral, cobalt, and lavender dots. Pair it with our Rusty Branch Mini Obi Belt and Tera Cotta Seed Bead Earrings to draw out that burnt coral color and make the outfit complete. You can even match your slip since we have some Alice Ivory and Coral Slips on sale in-store! 

Another great transition color we’re excited about this year is teal! Sarah Bibb’s newest Jamie Dress in Montage is a perfect way to introduce happy, bright colors in your wardrobe that can easily transform into a more fall look with some tights and boots. This print is amazing because it has a good mix of bright and more subdued hues, and the print is small enough that it kind of creates a tiled type of feel. Very flattering and of course super comfortable and practical! 

We love summer as much as any Portlander, but I gotta say, we’re starting to get a little excited for fall fashion. I have been wearing boots almost every day with summer dresses! Introducing some of these colors into your wardrobe is a nice way to ease into late summer and embrace the season transition!

Save the Date to Celebrate 10 Years of Folly!!

We just can’t believe it, but we will soon be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Folly! We want to thank you for your support over the last ten years, as this is no easy feat for a small business and we could not have gotten here without you! We are so excited to commemorate a decade in business with you during our weekend celebration June 7th, 8th, and 9th. 

During our anniversary weekend, we will be raffling off an array of prizes featuring products and gift certificates from other local businesses, as well as offering some special promotions on Folly items! New Obi Belts for Spring! Transform your look with a pop of print or color!

Obi belts are a great way to change up the look of an outfit, and can be a great accessory to make an outfit a bit more casual or sophisticated, depending on the print combination. Throw an Obi belt in your purse and add it on top of the Jamie on your way from the office to a dinner or night out. Add one of our scarves as a shawl and you are looking so chic!

Hi! My name is Hope and I’ll be the new Folly blogger, photographer, and in-store associate! 

I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces since joining the Folly family. 

Today I’m wearing a Mini Obi Belt in Painterly to add a Folly touch to one of my favorite jumpsuits. I love how versatile the Obi Belts are and how you can use them to add a pop of pattern to a solid-colored top or romper.
