We are in full swing for Spring! Our in house 'factory' has been churning out new Spring styles and the store has been recieving tons of shipments of new Spring styles from our other favorite brands. We have certainly been busy bees at Folly! Speaking of which...have you stopped by to see our new spring window display? Bumble bees and flowers galore!

Perfect for spring with a cardigan... perfect for summer with just sandals! Or pair with your favorite old reliable skinny jeans too ;) Made Right in our little studio in Portland, Oregon!

Johnny Was really knocked it out of the park with this handkerchief style dress. Gorgeous, rich navy with absolutely beautiful embroidery! Cameo is really on a roll with all the cute sleep and lingerie sets she has been making! I love these sweet little floral prints. Girly, sexy, adorable!

Nothing says Spring quite like a lovely grassy green. Easy to wear in this abstract pattern with hints of white and black, the brand new Robin dress is the perfect transition piece! wear here no with a lovely spring cardigan and maybe some tights and leggings. This dress will serve you well into Summer, then fall, and all the way back to spring! The adjustable straps are convertible...and can be worn all different ways! Cross in the front or back, tie little bows, make it a halter... possibilites are endless, really!

Sweet Caroline! Tee-Shirt Turned Dress! (AKA Take a Break from the Holidays and Treat Yourself)

Oh Caroline...You have been a wonderful treat of a tee shirt. Perfectly soft, boat necked, half sleeved, and the perfect fit. Sweet, sweet Caroline! What a cutie she is. You still have a chance to scoop her up for yourself. Basic. Cute. Perfect with high rise or mid rise anything!

In Charcoal and Plum

This week our lovely team down at the Folly Factory whipped us up something fresh and new...they took a little Caroline tee and pumped her up into a Caroline Dress! Perfectly adorable. This super fun Blue Tribal print is so versatile and cute! dress her up or down..wear her int he winter with fleece tights or in the summer with sandals! So adorable. It's the perfect length too! I'm 5'5" and it hits me a little above the knee. Won't be overwhelming for anyone shorter and not too mini for anyone taller! With pockets of course. And this is a cotton spandex so it feels great!

More pics and info HERE!

And remember you can always call us with questions...we are here to help! And we really know everything about the fit of each and every garment we carry. We can give you the full service!

The amazing, magical, do-everything Vickie tunic!

Oh the Vickie. How could you need anything more? This is such a versatile tunic dress. It's so soft it's probably a crime...Feels like wearing your softest PJ's in public! But wow do you look great! My little folk, wear it as a super simple mini dress! Let those legs free while it's still warm outside! Then pair with some opaque tights or leggings in the fall. Or for you tall leggy ladies, pair with some lightweight leggings for the summer and dare I say some skinny jeans in the fall?! Perfect. Easy. Soft. Belt it with a Sarah Bibb obi belt. (Do you have one yet? It will change your life forever.)

Field Trip to Folly

A week ago we received a phone call at the boutique that caused a bit of confusion. I answered the phone with a pleasant "Folly, this is Laura." Only to be answered by a voice of a child asking to speak with Sarah. I of course thought it was a child of someone Sarah knew, but I was incorrect. It was a first grade student from Childpeace Montessori School asking Sarah if she could visit the boutique and studio to learn about the business and how clothes are made. We were elated by the request and after confirming with a few adults Sarah set a date and time…which happens to be today. :)

At around 1:15PM the doorbell chimed and in walked Zucca and Tillie, two adorable first graders. At first they were very shy so Sarah started to show them around the boutique. She showed them garments from her line and soon after the questions started... How do you design clothes? Do you have fun? Do you get breaks? I will show you more about the design process when we take a tour of the studio...I have a lot of fun. It's hard work, but it's worth it...Well, we don't really have a conventional work day, so we don't really get breaks. Breaks for us are the moments we get to tell jokes and have robot dance-offs (Sarah proceeded to wow them with her robot skills).

After a few questions Sarah took the girls to the studio for a tour of where everything is made. While at the studio Sarah gave Tillie and Zucca a demo on how to use the sewing machines. The girls had plenty of questions about the design process, so Sarah showed them the pattern to one of her garments and explained how the magic happens. Then back to the boutique they went to see the finished product. After a few minutes of chatter time, the girls left and went back to their school day and Sarah and I were left to battle it out in yet another robot dance-off.

Thank you ladies for gracing us with your curious minds. We hope you come and visit us soon.

Laura
