Obi Belts: Why We Love Them as a Staple Piece for Every Wardrobe!

Have you heard of our Obi Belts? If not, our Obi is a simple wrapping belt that sits at the smallest part of your waist. They’re perfect for accenting your waist or adjusting the fit or shape of a dress. You may have seen leather versions of this belt out in the world, but all of ours are made from 100% Cotton prints making them more comfortable and affordable than a typical leather Obi! It’s also super fun to mix and match the prints with a dress you already have or one you find here! Also, an extra bonus is that ours are made right in the back of our shop! It doesn’t get more local than that!

We offer our Obi Belts in two widths, the original and the mini. The original width is great if you want a little more of the print or just a bolder, more statement-piece kind of look, while the mini is perfect if you’re more petite or short-waisted, or just want a more subdued look. There are probably a few pieces you already have in your wardrobe that these could be a great addition to!

We love pairing them with our babydoll-style Abbie dress if you like the babydoll look but want the waist to feel a little more tailored. They’re also perfect for our Jenni Dress since it has an elastic waist. Our Obis are just the accessory you need to finish off a beautiful and classic look.

New Obi Belts for Spring! Transform your look with a pop of print or color!

Obi belts are a great way to change up the look of an outfit, and can be a great accessory to make an outfit a bit more casual or sophisticated, depending on the print combination. Throw an Obi belt in your purse and add it on top of the Jamie on your way from the office to a dinner or night out. Add one of our scarves as a shawl and you are looking so chic!

Have a cute plain dress that needs a fresh touch for spring? We have so many new Obi belts to add a pop of color to an outfit you already have, or one of our beautiful dresses.

They can also be layered over a tank and cardigan for a more casual, yet sharp look. Pair with some of Sarah Bibb’s cropped palazzo pants and you have a super cute outfit that can shift between casual and dressy, and is so comfortable!

Hi! My name is Hope and I’ll be the new Folly blogger, photographer, and in-store associate!

I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces since joining the Folly family.

Today I’m wearing a Mini Obi Belt in Painterly to add a Folly touch to one of my favorite jumpsuits. I love how versatile the Obi Belts are and how you can use them to add a pop of pattern to a solid-colored top or romper.

Or wrap them over one of our Lauren Cardis for a touch of sophistication.

It’s all about the little things, right?

I’ve also added a couple Nicole Weldon bobbi pins for a little sparkle to brighten up this rainy Portland day!

Oh Baby! Obi Belts Galore!

Have you hopped on the Obi Belt train yet? A Sarah Bibb classic...and an amazing everyday accessory! Easy, comfortable, and fun, the obi belt completes any outfit. A modern version of the traditional Japanese obi, used to tie a kimono together, obis are traditionally made with embroidered silk.
